This population has faced tremendous challenges over the course of their lifetime and continue to during their post-retirement years. What are best practices in working with LGBT seniors in nursing homes, assisted living, adult day and other healthcare settings? What are the unique needs and how are they sensitively met? CE & Program Requirements:

In order to receive credit, you must: Log in on time & attend the entire presentation. Attendance log and Zoom analytics will be reviewed by the CE Director. Evaluations & Certificates will be provided in approximately 10 business days to those eligible. Partial credit is not provided.

Each person must be individually registered and logged in using individualized Zoom link. Sharing links is not permitted as it will not track participation appropriately.

Jenerations Health Education maintains responsibility for this program. This workshop meets the BSWE Anti-Oppressive Social Work Practice content requirement COMAR 10.42.06.03 A.(1)(d) and qualifies for 1 Category I continuing education units. 

 

Understanding & Meeting the Special Needs of Older Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Persons, course # 5699 is approved by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program to be offered by Jenerations Health Education as an individual course. Individual courses, not providers, are approved at the course level. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. ACE course approval period: 4/23/2024-4/23/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 1 Social Cultural Competency Credits continuing education credits.

Notice to providers of New Jersey SW Continuing Education:

• ACE individual course approval meets the NJ Board of Social Work Examiners requirements for individual course approval pursuant to NJ Code 13:44G-6.4.16

 Case Manager: This program has been preapproved by the Commission for Case Manager Certification to provide ethics continuing education credits to CCM board certified case managers.

Nursing Home Administrators: This program has been approved for 1 contact hour by NCERS/NAB. 

Certified Financial Planners: Accepted for 0.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits through the CFP Board.

Stephanie Goldstein BSW, LBSW is an associate speaker with Jenerations Health Education. She has guest lectured at Johns Hopkins University. Stephanie works as a care manager in Towson, Maryland where she assists clients and families who need assistance in advance care planning and understanding options available to their loved ones.
